COVID-19 Clinic Safety

We have instituted several changes at our clinic to keep Dougans Optometry and Chiropractic a safe environment for our patients and our staff.

These include but are not limited to:

-scheduling extra time between patients and removing extra chairs from the waiting room, so that people are not sitting in the waiting room together.

-clear plastic around the receptionists desk to preserve social distancing.

-disinfecting before and after each patient.

-masks that will be provided and worn by everyone within the clinic.

-patients are encouraged to come on time and not too early. There is parking just outside the door usually so you can wait in your car if needed. A green light/red light system on the door will tell you when it is safe to enter the clinic.

-a foot plate on the door to make entering the clinic safer with no further need for the handle.

-discouraging the use of Cash within the clinic.

-increased patient visit time so that there is less or no exposure to other patients while at the clinic. Patients are encouraged not to bring other family members or friends with them unless needed.

-the doctor will also be wearing a faceshield or safety glasses.

-gloves when used will be changed between each patient.

-hand washing before and after any patient is seen within the clinic

-anyone wanting to make an appointment will be questioned regarding COVID-19 symptoms and will be asked not to come if they are feeling unwell. Anyone asked by Public Health to self-isolate will also not be allowed into the office.
